She doesn't regret having a kid, dude. She regrets having a kid with YOU.

@kaitlynclay2472 · ♥ 146

The son not wanting to sleep but the parenting begging for him to go to sleep is so spot on💯

@Pixiemaniac · ♥ 31074

That seperation might have saved their marriage in the long run as well.

@VPower-pl4rd · ♥ 2768

I love her, shes a great actress and I love that the couple looks real, I really mean their looks. Just like normal exhausted people

@kourtneycrawford178 · ♥ 7030

The fact he acknowledged her that’s something that rarely happens in reality

@abbasshachem3383 · ♥ 516

Finally a movie about them figureing it out and working to save themselves and not being stubborn with ego

@melkisedeck4548 · ♥ 10

Her acting is great.

@thomasrockhoff · ♥ 3287

I love Amy Adams so much. She brings so much humanity to ever character and always makes them relatable to real people.

@AmyaCastaneda · ♥ 6180

Do you regret having a kid? No she regrets choosing an incompetent partner

@Takeoffspacecat · ♥ 6838

Sometimes seperation doesent mean ending things. Everyone needs space

@LethalOwl · ♥ 2

Ah, yes, another typical "man bad, woman good" movie. When are we going to see the more common flip of this?

@BlackMandalorian1 · ♥ 198

This is literally the first time I seen a separation actually ended with the parents getting back together

@eerielconstantine · ♥ 1024

Im glad they worked it out So many don’t

@HollowedKhoi · ♥ 9048

Is this acting? Yes. Is it a fictional story told with slight exaggeration? Yes. Is this still a perfect example of people’s lives and a real fear of many people? Absolutely. Edit: yall are flaming me for saying exaggeration; which I meant in response to the dude actually owning up, not the overall situation

@loz712 · ♥ 2

Ah the "father" representation in TV and Film... Fucking bonkers.

@courtneyeade3488 · ♥ 933

My daughters father constantly says “idk how you do it” despite being the most helpful ever. It makes me feel seen and heard and gives me motivation to keep going even when I’m burnt out to the max. He works all day long hard labour outside in all the weather imaginable and still comes home and praises what I do. Takes our daughter out for an evening to give me a break and always says he had the best time but that it’s hard and he can’t imagine doing it all day everyday. I love him so much. I’m so thankful I had a baby with him ❤

@OnlyLoveIsWelcome · ♥ 175

That's the ending everyone who's in this situation wants and needs

@C1984_FR · ♥ 1513

"Do you regret having a kid?" "No, never, but I regret having a kid with you" That is what she meant and I know because 10 years ago I was heavily pregnant freaking out over how I was going to do the whole mom thing and my husband reassured me, we will figure it out together. Here I am, with a nearly 10 year old having done 99.9% of the parenting for reasons I won't go into. I would never regret my daughter, but I regret who I had her with.

@candyk2028 · ♥ 1

That’s why they say it takes a village to raise a child. So glad my mum, uncle and aunts were around to help.

@TheWinezen · ♥ 1

Her answer to his question of regretting having children was the most mature and thoughtful answer. I am glad they managed to work things out amicably and rekindled their love for each other.

@CEDL4072 · ♥ 247

I went through this except he decided to keep it permanent and has not seen our kid for 11 years now but tbh, life is better. So much better. He's the one losing out cause my kid is awesome and I'm honored to watch him grow up and flourish 😊

@CCB9024 · ♥ 214

I was 'lucky' if you can call it that! My husband works in construction, very hard manual labour job. He was amazing when our son was born. We were in hospital for a week due to complications. My husband spent every moment he could there with us, whilst also coming home for our dog. Every day he would come home from work, get showered and dressed and say 'ok, hand him over' and would take our son while I did what I needed to do. Weekends he'd do night feeds and get up early with the baby to let me sleep in. We were both tired but he never complained. Oh, and everytime I'd get upset about my body, he'd tell me how beautiful I was. He's such a good man ❤

@itzonehumanbeing · ♥ 53

sometimes taking a break in a relationship is the best thing you can do.

@ongoingawakening4257 · ♥ 2

Wow. I raised two babies and two stepchildren without the help of a traveling dad. Even when he was in town, he could give a shit to help. That's what the kids remember, too. They remember him sitting on the couch with the TV on when he was home, which was pretty rare. Now my kids are grown. I'm close to all four of them. Their dad, he rarely hears from them. That sounds like a lonely life to me.

@littlenismo · ♥ 1

Gee Hollywood's imagination knows no bounds. How do they come up with these fantastic fantasy worlds? Looks like a fun movie though even if it's not that realistic.

@ElizabethJetter · ♥ 148

It doesn’t go far enough to show 2 weeks after they move back together where he regresses to status quo. On endless repeat with “I’m trying” “I’m stressed” etc and escalating aggression/ guilt/ promises until she’s ready to leave again, followed by moderate temporary improvements, repeated forever. He saw and he knows and it benefits him so he needs her back.

A compassionate doctor's unconventional diagnosis proves that sometimes, the simplest solutions can heal the most complex behaviors.

Where to watch · NBC

What viewers are saying

@CthulhusHR · ♥ 22792

lol he fixed the aggression and anger. But he does still very badly want to tell everyone about it 😂😂

@cassiemoyles4177 · ♥ 11398

"Excuse me vitamins are really good for you" is so fucking funny to me

@sinsoftempest · ♥ 5972

I think becoming annoying is a way better solution than what was happening before

@MrJuno319 · ♥ 1373

I think most people would agree that going from being aggressive and unaware to just being really excited about vitamins is a monumental improvement. At least then he’s not a threat to himself or others

@luckymoonjoy · ♥ 16999

“So he’s not schizophrenic?” “No. He *is* schizophrenic.” Thank you tv show for not villainizing schizophrenia

@Bonkripper7666 · ♥ 2056

In his defense, vitamins brought him much closer to sanity. Based on his lived experience, they are incredible.

@TerryJonesCrow · ♥ 2280

Well, something good came out of it, never said it wouldn’t become annoying though 😊 Edit: Wow, 2k in 24 hours is a new record for me.

@CJandstuff · ♥ 1443

I’m mildly schizophrenic, and yeah. Sometimes you have to just figure out how to point me in a more positive direction. It’s hard to talk to me when I’m in my delusions, or to convince me there not true. But you can make it a more positive experience for everyone like they did here. It doesn’t always work but it’s a huge help to have someone meet you in your level like that

@escoriaplays · ♥ 99

The way he said "Yeah" when the doc asked if he liked the protein shakes makes me giggle Hes like "No i enjoy the way the bag of empty bottles feels in my hand"

@evanlucas8914 · ♥ 46

For reference, pellagra was a common "disease" in the rural poor, especially in the south. Eventually it was discovered to be a malnutrition related disorder. We treated it by making bread flower "enriched".

@hydeparkacademy7107 · ♥ 53

He's a man on a mission. A crusader. Just need him to latch onto a more positive message. Vitamins are fine.

@darlingJasper · ♥ 122

Nah see I woulda loved this guy post-vitamins, bro just wants to help ❤

@krystledyer5827 · ♥ 48

I’m a nurse and went to a place on contract that was suppose to be a nursing home which is what I normally work. Come to find out, while half of the patients were actually like nursing home patients, the other half were just long term psych patients (this was a horrible place btw and inappropriate for these 2 demographics to be mixed this way.) anyways, this was my first real exposure to basically psych care. The schizophrenic patients were my favorite. Always saying some off the wall things. I tried to give one guy his meds and he said, “do you think Santa would take these?!?!” I said, “I think he would if he needed them.” This guy looked genuinely baffled I said that but then said, “well if Santa takes them then I guess I will.”

@amandagreen2806 · ♥ 95

Well at least some vitamins are good for you. 😅😅😅😅😅😅

@kat-cg6dy · ♥ 176

he’s so right though, take your vitamins and shit. for the past month i’ve been consistently taking vitamin d, zinc, vitamin c, cranberry, elderberry, and this probiotic stuff my mom found for women awhile ago. yeah i eat a bunch of pills every night but i genuinely have noticed a difference in my physiological baseline, i feel noticeably less like shit on a regular basis. obviously your diet and staying hydrated contributes to that but i’m just sayin we’re all pretty vitamin d deficient so at least take that

@galexander6993 · ♥ 13

I find it sweet that he wanted to save those people from what happened to him and now he got his vitamins 👍

@pixie9499 · ♥ 7

i was in treatment with a schizophrenic guy, maybe 22 y/o. he was truly one of the kindest people i’ve ever met but he carried this look of pain & rigidity 24/7. he eventually shared that his “voices” were in a constant hellish cacophony that legitimately never stopped. the way he talked about it made it seem like a never ending horror story audio reel on loop. when he finally found the right cocktail of meds the difference was starkly visible. he came from despair back to bright eyed & hopeful. i’m grateful that i got to see something like this with my own eyes so many times, having been through the ringer myself. the human mind is unfathomably incredible & i’ll spend the rest of my life striving to understand as much as i can.

@memz5220 · ♥ 7

@tremas3329 · ♥ 6

As someone with vitamin deficiency issues that cause me a lot of little problems in life... i wholeheartadly approve of this video!

@hightalkkss · ♥ 4

i think being annoyingly nice is better than the negativities he was going thru cuz you can tell he’s much happier its jus like those ppl in nyc who spread positivity in the most outrageous ways it makes me happy lowkey

@bullscott12 · ♥ 1

I want to point out that my wife is an Electroconvulsive therapy nurse and it is not like it is shown in the movies. It is actually quite effective and helps a lot of people.

@the_travelingbreeze · ♥ 1

That's Tyler Labine, AKA "Sock" from Reaper!

@Imrighthere-z1l · ♥ 6

Electroshock therapy still exists and is used today, mostly to treat depression when everything is not working. It is called electroconvulsive therapy, it is done more safely and humanely than it was.

@rottentreegremlin5126 · ♥ 1

I definitely prefer an annoying (but nice) person that may or may not have schizophrenia than an aggressive person.

@brandontaylor3874 · ♥ 1

Now he yells HAPPY things at people!

@Gingigongong · ♥ 5

I appreciate this. My dad and my sister are both struggling with things akin to paranoid schizoprenia. That guy made sure to help him, not "solve his flaw." If only the world saw that that is a much better way.

@MWCruiser · ♥ 5

I mean… yeah… Take your damn vitamins!!! You’ll live longer and healthier! There’s a reason your parents likely got you Flintstone vitamins! Take the adult versions now that you’re an adult, vitamins don’t have to be a chalky pill!

For anyone wondering I googled and the reason an adult is playing a child is because she is supposed to be playing a younger version of herself in the year 2000 along with another actor who is an adult as well. This is one of the best movies of all time. Its called Bigfish. The movie shows the father's life story as he tells it to his son, his son always thought he was a liar and kind of resented him for it because the stories were just too fantastical and none of the son's friends believed him. Spoiler Alert: Then at the the fathers funeral all the wild people the father tild him about show up to his funeral to pay their respects and he learns from them that everything he ever told him was true, albeit slightly exaggerated. He ends up retracing his fathers footprints and finds even more truth to his stories.

This is one of Burton's most underrated films imo. I wish he had done more films like this because he was great at this genre. The ending is really touching , especially if you have had a grandparent or parent that seemingly told "tall tales" about their life

I swear I went on a first date once with a guy just like the first guy. I had a cold and he begged me to go out with him. I took some cold medicine and met him at a restaurant. I brought enough money to cover my food and the tip that went with it. He ordered something expensive and an appetizer for himself then asked me to split the bill with him equally. I let him know I brought enough money to pay for my meal and tip only. He got upset then asked for a box for my leftover food that was on my plate that I didn't eat so he could take it home with him to eat later. He messaged me later through the dating app to tell me I needed to bring more money with me when I go out with people because in his mind a person shouldn't just pay for their own food but half of the bill. I told him I wasn't interested in him and then I blocked him.

Had a similar date like the first guy. We chatted for about 3 weeks before we finally met. I mentioned to him that I just got laid off and currently unemployed over and over again and that I would rather meet him when I'm in a much better financial situation. But he was very persistent in "taking me out for lunch"... I finally said Yes after the 4th time he asked. We went to a local dumpling house restaurant. Nothing fancy. Very casual place. The "date" lasted for about an hour. He worked for Lockheed Martin. He kept telling me how he's in a great place career wise, he just got promoted, received a 30% salary increase and he's getting free living expenses for the first 3 months. Even though he knew my situation, I was genuinely happy for him. We truly had a great time. Then the bill comes. It was only for $50.... And he asked to split it.... I looked at him at just laughed. I paid the whole bill and just left.... This was a guy making over 150k and wanting to split a $50 check... It's not really about the money. It's only $50.... It's the lack of self awareness....

@Bensworld667 · ♥ 6

In my opinion if you invite someone out on a date you should be paying em for the entire meal. No matter what your gender is. The only exception is if you talk about splitting the bill up before going to dinner for whatever reason. If someone invites me out on a date I always bring enough cash for my meal only and offer to pay for my meal. I do appreciate when they pay for my meal though and they are much more likely to get a second date if they do and on the second date if they paid for my meal on the first date I will insist on paying for their meal on the second date. I want a partner that works together in everything. Someone that wants to pay for my meal as much as I want to pay for theirs. I want a partner who cares about me and not about the fact that I am not wealthy. Someone who wants to build and grow together as a team. Also my leftovers are mine, period! lol

@yokuchan1172

Old dogs get adopted way less than younger ones due to health issues or not being as exciting as a puppy. But they are some of the sweetest babies. My parents got me a dog from a yardsale- she was an OLD chihuahua, her eyes were foggy, missing a lot of teeth and tongue always hanging out. She looked a little silly, but that first night I took her home, she slept with me and wouldn't MOVE. Her old owners said they were moving and couldn't take her, so they were going to put her down. She lived for a really long time after that too, like at least 6 years, and died prematurely aswell. She was a sweet girl and already trained too

This is one of the most Melancholy shows I’ve ever seen, yet so realistic. I used to hate on it when i was younger but as I got older, I started to see myself and life’s struggles in everyone. Especially fatherhood/motherhood and understanding/coming to terms with how we messed up when we were younger, while we try to push forward each day. Super well written always warms my heart, and this continuation only broke me even more, it’s like seeing the cute neighborhood couple that was 25 when you were 10 now 45, just feels sad in a weird way, like you’re happy for them but you see the stains of time.

Man, that hit hard. We all know how much Hank loved Ladybird. He's not a very emotional guy, but you can imagine how hard that had to be for him. The fact that he didn't want to go through that again, says so much. My dad actually had that exact same reasoning for why we never got another dog. My dad was a herper hobbiest (snake guy), we always had all kinds of animals growing up. Snakes, lizards, turtles, crayfish, etc. I got all kinds of neat pets. Thing was though, my dad never got too attached to his animals. He didn't really see them as pets. They projects. He cared for them, but not in a very emotional way. When I was 8 years old though, my dad got remarried, and he and my stepmom opted to get a dog together. He was an Australian Shepherd, and his name was Casper because he was born on Halloween. The marriage didn't last very long, but we got to keep Casper. My dad really just wanted him around because I was so young, and he figured Casper could help guard the house a little. Initially, that was about the sum of the relationship between my Dad and Casper. But, we ended having Casper for over 12 years, and in that time, that lovable and goofy dog, worked his way into our hearts. As dogs do though, he got older, and started having problems... We made the tough call to have him put down... I was probably 19 at the time. I broke down immediately. HARD. I'd know Casper most of my life. Losing him was like a knife to the heart. My dad was more measured and controlled, but on the car ride home, as I was still balling my eyes out, my dad was trying to console me a bit, which was never his strong suit. And eventually he told me to try and dial it back a little bit. I was upset at that remark, but then I looked at him, and he had tears in his eyes. I saw my dad cry MAYBE 3 times in my life. He just wasn't that kind of person. That's when I realized, that he only told me to try and dial it back, because it causing him to lose his composure as well. After that, no more dogs for him. Even after we moved into a house with a big back yard, he contemplated it, but he admitted that he didn't want to go through that pain again.

She had to take a loan out to get food on the table and went ahead and got enough for rent to. She paid it back but they still call her. Im in my 30s and my kids have a full kitchen, pantry, fridge, full of food. Have never went hungry. There comes a time when your pride becomes selfishness. If you happen to be down, and not able to do the best for your family and a blessing comes your way then you put your selfishness away and say thank you. Everyone struggles, its okay to get help.
